Crown problems

Hi, just wanted to get an opinion, i have just had a root canal and crown done on a molar tooth. The tooth had been filled many times and was in bad shape. My problem is the crown is much larger than my other teeth, particularly the corresponding one on the opposite side and seems to be bulging quite far into my mouth. I am not sure if I will be able to get used to it. Is this normal for crowns? I have never had one done before. I did express my concerns before the dentist cemented it, but he said that in his opinion it was fine and that I would get used to it. My husband says it looks like Frankenstein's tooth. I just wanted to know if this is normal for crowns or if I should go back. It feels very big and I keep feeling as if my tongue is hitting off it. Thanks for any advice.

Sounds like the tooth was underprepared and now the crown sits on it like a mushroom. Only options are 1. get used to it, 2. New crown.
