setting up freeview

    i have an existing sky box set up at home. i received a toshiba dvd recorder which has freeview on it. i am trying to set this up but i am having no joy. presuming i have the cabkes set up correctly, should this work for me? by this i mean i am using the same cable socket in the wall which supplies my sky. sorry if this has been asked before but i searched and couldnt see anything

    Freeview is for the UK only....it mite work if you are close to the east coast and have a terrestrial aerial that can pick up a tranmitter in england or wales etc..

    Freeview = UK Tv from an Aerial. Only works in UK or some parts East coast, South East coast and Border.

    Freesat = UK TV from Satellite. Picked up on Dish. Most of the free channels on Sky are actually Freesat signals. Take out Sky card, and all the channels that still work is pretty much Freesat if BBC1 = 101 on your "EPG".
