    +1.

    Be very careful.

Stick around a few of the forum's on boards.ie - they have regular beer's meet up's and its certainly safer than trying to randomly find someone.

If you're from outside of Ireland and wish to get to know some people I'd recommend joining couchsurfing and joining the Dublin group. They often have meet ups, where you'd get to meet and socialise with both Irish and international people. It's open and friendly. Good luck.

Hi, If you are interested in making friends I would reccomend joining a club first, and meeting in a group setting, maybe your school or work colleagues?
be carefull about meeting strangers on your own>

Check out www.meetup.com, there are loads of groups meeting in Dublin with various things (or nothing particular) in common, it's a great way to get out and do something and meet people.

    Hello JK,

did you have success? I am in the same situation. It would be nice to find some Thrusday night buddies to go for a beer with in town.

i am not looking for anything other than social escape.
