...deleted every episode of LOST i had, it included recaps. I watched episodes/seasons several times but I was stuck for space and lost had to go. I thought I would regret it but the 6th season took care of that! :pac:

I didnt get hooked to it when it first came out, but got hooked because my sister asked me to get episodes, i missed the end of season 2 and most of season 3 because I was travelling. My interest was reignited by the immoratal lines, "We have to go back!".

My imagination ran wild with what they setup and could achieve but pity that the writers were stuck in screenings with test audiences and studio execs :(

I suppose this could be a rant but anyone else finally say goodbye and thanks?

While I am not fully sure of the mechanics of how the show full worked, it's my distinct impression that the writers could basically do what they like once they signed the contract for the final 3 seasons. I really doubt test audiences influenced them at all.
I read an interview with Damon, I think, when he and Carlton did the, annual, pitch to the studio execs for Season 5. After they were done the head guy of ABC just shrugged and said something along the lines of I've no idea what is going on, you do what you do.

For all the strengths and weaknesses of The End I do think it's the ending the writers wanted so all praise and criticism ultimately falls on their shoulders imo.

In terms of saying goodbye, I have to say I really haven't. I have a developed a bit of an obsession watching fanmade promos/tributes on Youtube. There is some really awesome stuff that gives me goosebumps.
I've also trying to obtain every piece of music from the show I can which I started a thread about. The soundtrack is coming out in a fortnight which I am super excited about, with the possibility of 1 more later.
The Emmys are on tonight and of course the DVDs came out this week.

I'm going on a RTW trip in October so I think I will really only give myself a total break then. I will likely not do a full re-watch for a few years, so shall put off buying the big boxset, but the music will never be to far away from my earphones.
