Learner Permit: Using Irish Name

Is it possible to use the Gaeilge version of my name on my Learner Permit, although all my other official documentation uses my english name. I've been told it is my right, as a citizen of Ireland, to use my Irish name as I wish. Can anybody confirm if this applies to the Learner Permit. Has anyone else done it?

I've never seen it been done but it's a government document so I'd imagine you are free to use your irish name instead of your english as you wish.

Ring the tax office and see what they say.

If you just fill it out as gaeilge you should get it back in that version. They won't look for proof of usage. Unlike your passport where you have to show you having been using the Irish version for 2 years. Even though on the form it says you don't need to provide proof if the name change is down to language.

My Birth Cert and Passport have my middle name on them, but my Driving Licence doesn't. I'd assume using a different version (e.g. language) of your name is the same as omitting one of your names. I filled in the form for my last Learner Permit, or Ceadúnas Sealdach ("Provisional Licence" - Never updated the Irish forms!) in Irish, but never thought to change my name (I don't like Richard, but Risteard is worse lol).
