So today in work. . .

    here's what happened. Opinions welcome.
I clean rooms in a hotel. It's hard.
Generally the day is split up into three:

    Before break, make up rooms
After break, make up more rooms.
After dinner, fold linen and go home.

so the linen came early today, and I, as did some others decided to economise on time, and do the linen early, as there is sometimes a waiting period very early in the morning, while we wait for people to wake up, get up, go to breakfast ect.

So I am not the only one who did linen early today.
So my supervisor came around as usual, wanting to see how much is done, whats done, and whats going on ect. At around 10.15 I had a half a room done, and all linen folded and put away! She was very dissapointed with this, and said " you will have to be faster than that " which is fine. I accept that. I can take critizism. I realize that, that is part of her job.

BUT.... the bit that I have a problem with is this.
At lunchtime, my colleague, who works separate to me, was able to tell me that I "only had half a room done at 10.15" without me volunteering this information!

We all work alone to a large extent, until we are told to go "help" someone or something.

Is my supervisor out of order here, or should I even have to ask! She is making me out to be an incompetent fool , when in actual fact, I saved a lot of time this morning, and went home early, saving the company MORE MONEy

That colleague is the same level as you.

It's not on for your supervisor to be criticizing you to other staff.
To management yes, that's ok but not to housekeeping staff like you.

    Don't let this go.
Just discuss what you were doing and how you plan your day, it'll take less then one minute for her to listen.

I tried to explain it to her. She knew what I was doing, and reasonably she should have seen that I was using time in the best way possible. Things need to be done, I don't see a problem with doing things in a different order, if it saves time. But pettily she pointed out to me, that
"we don do the linen in the morning anyway" That was her retort to me trying to explain myself.

As for not letting it go, what choice do I have? this is a trial period for me. She can let me go for whatever reason at any time.

I'm the new girl/scapegoat on the block!
