Spider Vein on Face

    Hi,

As the title of the thread goes I have a problem of a red spider vein on my face (under eye) that particularly in the last 4/5 months has been getting more noticeable.

It has been there for the last two years at least but its only recently that it has become noticeable and it seems to be getting bigger.

I have read up on it and it seems to be with age but i am in my early 20's.
To be honest it is kind of affecting my confidence as i am really conscious of it when i am around people and getting in photos and the likes.
It has even been pointed out to me as "whats the mark on your face".

I am just wondering has anybody had anything similar and gotten rid of it without seeing a dermatologist (i'm a student and cannot really afford to go to one and get the laser treatment that is meant to work), using creams or by some other method?

    Thank you.

I have two on my face, one in the middle of my forehead and one on the end of my nose. I hate them. It's all I see when I look in the mirror. I had laser treatment done on them a couple of years ago. I had three treatments at €110 each. They improved but didn't go away but I couldn't afford to have any further treatment at the time. I'd say I needed another two-three treatments. In the last six months or so they have started to get worse again.

My doctor recently said he could freeze them, by putting a tiny drop of that stuff they put on warts on it. I'm not sure tho, worried that it might leave a mark. He's not done it on anyones face before but has done it successfully on other parts of the body. Has anyone any experience of this?

I'm hoping to be able to afford to have further treatment on them early next year.

If you just want to cover it up for now, Bare Minerals is amazing. I've a red birthmark on my face - about the size of the white of your baby nail. It gets redder at times and people have asked me about it. I don't care enough to get it removed, but for any occasion or sometimes going out I'll cover it up with the foundation powder. I'd tried cream/stick concealers on it before but they didn't work very well and just looked caked on. It's just the foundation I use, Bare Minerals have a concealer out now too but I haven't tried it yet. If you go to one of their counters you can ask them to try it out on you and see if you're happy with the result.
