Roganstown Charity Day

I was very lucky and grateful to be asked to play in the charity day yesterday. I have to commend the O'Loughlins and all the sponsers for pulling out all the stops. We received a selection of goodies starting followed by burgers and choice of beer or wine on the turn. Have to admit that the wine didn't exactly do my golf any good!!

The evening followed with entertainment, "Smooth" I think and they weren't half bad, finger food, prize presentation, raffle and silent auction. Not too sure how much was made, as we left after presentation, but frightening to think that Our Lady's Hospital depend on €30K being fundraised daily just to survive!

I like this course, it is slowly maturing, just a pity the greens were pole forked but course is well maintained. Only negative for me was nearest the pin for ladies was on the 2nd hole which I thought was a pity as we were barely warmed up and being one of the last groups out interesting that there was only one name up and not that close either - it was beaten later!

Once again very well done Roganstown, hope I'm invited back next year!
