Social welfare in the Republic of Ireland is mismanaged. Who’s responsible? The person claiming the allowance OR the person responsible for legislation in reference to social welfare procedures. The answer is the taxpayer and the politician. The politician uses the power of the electorate in reference to obtaining seats in parliament/Dail Eireann nevertheless the taxpayer/electorate was comfortable during the Celtic Tiger otherwise Fiana Fail wouldn’t have been re-elected in reference to the 2007 general election.

We now have a situation whereby the current government will do everything in their power to remain at the helm for another two years. Are cut-backs needed regarding our country’s finances? Yes absolutely. Will public service cut-backs be implemented come the next budget? No otherwise strikes will be inevitable and in consequence of this arising the current government would collapse. Will social welfare cut-backs be implemented? Yes nevertheless the ordinary Joe Soap hasn’t a say really.

Is a small unemployment rate possible once again similar to what we witnessed in the Celtic Tiger? Yes. However the current government continue to blame the global recession for employment growth and it’s the biggest load of crap I’ve ever heard. The ERSI estimates that 200000 will emigrate by the year 2014 and the reason for this suggests that the current government is hoping that the good natured hard working people of this country will pack up their bags and depart shore for another place to reside.

Universities, VEC’S in reference to re-educating our work force have no other options but to shut the door regarding ten thousands of applicants who’s only other option is to remain on the dole OR complete a FAS course that will inevitably lead the taxpayer into further trouble. I’m sure there are some FAS courses that will benefit the economy in reference to job creation nevertheless the vast majority are a waste of the taxpayers money and for this reason the FAS budget should be allocated to the third level Universities and the VEC’S. 1 Billion Can go a long way. The thread is not to criticise FAS because that’s for a rainy day.

How do we re-educate our workforce when the vast majority of social welfare recipients are not entitled to the BEA allowance unless they sit on the scratcher for nine months? The Irish taxpayer pays the 4000 euro University fee on an annual basis in reference to the 250000+ students who attend 3rd level education each academic year. Students are entitled to apply for a grant regarding an exemption concerning the mandatory registration fee totaling 1587 euros. In Ireland between the years 2004-2010 students who were in receipt of a back to education allowance were also entitled to a rent allowance, a student maintenance grant and for this reason a student was receiving 27074 euros in allowances for which 17000 was paid in cash. Despite all these corrupt benefits, a graduate doesn’t have to reimburse the taxpayer upon graduation.

The above statement is in reference to students who are over the age of 21 and for this reason eligibility is limited in reference to the vast majority of Irish students attending University aged 18 nevertheless these students aged under 21 are entitled to apply for certain other allowances except the back to education allowance.

The 450000 unemployed need to re-educate themselves by going to University and completing a degree/Postgrade. However the taxpayer could afford to take the bill comprising of 1215000 euros per annum. Um 450000 multiplied by 27000 isn’t 1215000 it’s (cut to the outside ward) hospital loud code blue code blue. The moral of the story is the taxpayer couldn’t afford it nevertheless we the students upon graduation could afford it. No one should be entitled to 27000 euros per annum nevertheless we could introduce an education system similar to one in Sweden. In Sweden they pay students 300 euros a month just to go to College and upon graduation the graduate reimburses the Swedish taxpayer for the finances that allowed undergraduates participate through education.

I’m entering my first year of College as a mature student and I’m receiving welfare entitlements that the taxpayer can ill afford nevertheless I would struggle immensely without them. I propose that all students entering University/VEC should have to reimburse the taxpayer including myself nevertheless this would be impossible unless we introduced an education system similar to Sweden. Batt O keefe proposed this already yet he chicken out because the green party said that they would pull out of government and Fiana Fail would have and still hopefully will become extinct.

The taxpayer searches anxiously for genuine politicians, and most of time remains disappointed, defeated, humiliated. That is why we have to develop a mature personality which means learning to keep our selfishness in check assuming our proper roles of responsibility and leadership and trying to fulfill ourselves wherever we are and in whatever work we do.

The above statement is something a politician is incapable of doing yet we are and most importantly I’m now asking you the taxpayer/electorate to do something the opposition have failed to do in Dail Eireann, this being to force a by-election in the Dublin south constituency. I and tens of thousands of others should have five T.D.’S represented nevertheless we only have four and this is illegal is it not and if not shouldn’t we the people of the Dublin south be entitled to challenge Dail Eireann in the high court. Put an end to this mess now and let the people work with a new government. Please join me and many others by making an application to the high court as to force a by-election and in doing so the other two by-elections will follow suit and if the people of this country have any sense a general election will eliminate the current government as to allow us to work with a new government that will make that change should our expectations be realistic.

I'm not sure that we in the politics forum want it. We hold conversations here, and don't generally listen to speeches.

I couldn't think of anywhere else that it would be given a fair hearing :)
