Why would this be I wonder? We have a wii which we sent back to Nintendo in the UK as there was a problem with it regarding a black blank screen. They posted it back to us but the colour doesn't seem to be working.
Suppose I'll have to call them up and send it back to them.

Could just be your tv. Mess about with the different inputs. Check the different stations etc.

For example if you connect an NTSC signal up to a PAL television and it doesn't support 60hz the image will be in black and white.

    What cable are you using?

The cable is the one that came with the console. 3 wires, red, yellow and white connection points.

definitely see if you can try the wii on another telly - the problem might be something to do with the telly / connections rather than the concole itself.

also, if you're plugging the red/white/yellow phono plugs straight into the tv, try using a phono/scart adaptor and use the scart socket on the back of the tv instead - you never know - it might simply be a dodgy connection

They've most likely set the display settings to 480i instead of 576i, which your TV doesn't like..

The following is an American guide, but if you follow it to the TV resolution step you should be able to change back to 576i (which isn't mentioned there...)

I tried that, changing the setting to 576i but still no good. I'd better try another tv. Thanks.

Sorted. The scart adaptor did the trick. Thanks for the assistance. Yet another problem solved on boards!
