Cars with high seats?

    Hi folks,

Could you by any chance recommend any cars with higher seats - my friend's mother finds "normal" cars very difficult to get in and out of. My cousin has a Hyundai Atoz which we've tried and it's perfect height-wise but we're looking for something a little less lightweight.

Any help gratefully received - thanks a million :)

Ford C-Max would be my top choice, they are height adjustable as well as having a high driving position, second would be Ford Focus, not quite as high but still comfortable.
If you're looking new, check out the Skoda Yeti, really good seating position in that although it's still good to drive.

Golf Plus - 4 inches higher than a normal Golf - makes it very comfortable indeed. Class car.

my mother has the same problem. Try a Toyota Avensis if you want a car. It is one of the highest seated cars in the class and is fairly sturdy. It has suited us for the past six years since we got the first one and only reason we have to move away from it now, is that her condition is worsening and she now needs an SUV. None of them ever gave an ounce of bother and the 2l D4D diesel engine ain't too bad. Definitely look towards a small SUV(nissan qashqui etc) aswell.

Thanks for all the replies! Plenty to have a look at there.

Think she's looking for a car rather than the starship enterprise but thanks! ;)

Try a Ford Fusion or Mazda 2 (old model)

My mother has similar problems, but manages quite well with a Toyota Camry and Nissan Note. Get her to try a few other cars with leather seats - mine finds leathers seats easier as she can slide in rather than have to get in all in one go if that makes sense.

If her movement is particularly limited you could look at things like these.

Something like this or its smaller sister

Have no personnal experience with either but the girl across the road says she finds the A-class easy to get the kids in and out of given that you don't have to bend over too much.

Thanks a mill, yeah, the leather seats thing does make sense and I wouldn't have thought of it! She doesn't have huge difficulties with mobility but it's more the severe drop into lower cars that gets her, which we wouldn't even notice.

    Thanks again :)
