    Hi,
Just got my Ipad which I’m happy with. I want set up a VPN to watch American and UK TV.
I was looking at StrongVPN for $55 (45€) per year. Has anyone use this VPN.
Also can you recommend other VPN and sites/apps I should be looking at for TV.

Also,I tried to place an advert on adverts.ie with my ipad but I was unable to upload a photo. Is this an ipad problem or the website. Is there another way to upload photos to this site.

    Thanks in advance

That looks the job. Can you pay for one month only.
Did you have any problems using it.

BlackVPN have dedicated iPad servers. Pay for a month at a time. PM me for referral code if desired.

Are you happy with BlackVPN lately?

I find it's working fine on my laptop and I'm happy with it but it can be astonishingly slow on the iPad lately. I'm getting speeds of 40kbps at times and the stream from the ABC app and BBC player can be either not working or very poor quality.

Anyone else having the same issue or is it just me?

    Never use it.

I've been using Overplay VPN for the last 3 months and have no problems on iPhone and iPad. £6.99 per month and servers in all major countries.

Yep, I'm seeing the same. Shocking since before Christmas.

I've used ukivpn for the past couple of years never had any problems with them. Website doesn't inspire confidence though!

I use hospot shield on my iPhone it does the USA and it's free. Works excellently. I use it for pandora radio. I'm looking for something similar for the uk. Any ideas???

Great tip. Thank you, I'll look that up.

I setup UKiVPN last night and BBC iplayer is working perfectly on my iPod and iPad. Can't get itv player or channel 4 OD though but think that's a software issue with apple?

Ah, so it's not just me?

I got so frustrated with them, I dropped them there last week and switched to Scottshost.

I tried this and found it was even slower than blackvpn. Was worth a try though. If it's working very well for you maybe it just doesn't like me.

You're correct 4OD and ITV player don't work on the iPad iPod or iPhone. www.tvcatchup.com works for live UK TV.

    Much better.

    Digitaldr,
Tried iPad.tvcatchup.com (through UKiVPN) but it won't work for me. Guess I'll just have to be happy with BBC

That's a shame. I don't have an iPad but just tried it on my iPhone 4 and it works grand. I presume you registered?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 69 ✭✭molliesassy

I did register. Haven't tried it on my iPhone yet. Will do tomorrow

    How much does this cost?

TVcatchup is free. However even with a UK VPN or proxy service it doesn't seem to work on a PC . It picks up that your IP is not in their catchment area. Lately I've found it no longer works on ipad or iphone either.

BlackVPN works really well for me and the referral thing is great.

Set tvcatchup up on my iPhone this morning and all channels except BBC1 are working.
