I was wondering is there any where online I can use to determine why someone was remanded to jail and from which court they were remanded?

No. Not online. I don't think there is any record kept of why someone was remanded in custody. It's certainly not on the committal warrant that the Judge writes. I don't believe the court clerk keeps a record of that either. The local Garda Superintendent will more than likely have access to his reasons for requesting a remand. The local press could also have a record of the Garda reasons for requesting a remand, presuming the court hearing wasn't held in camera. And of course if the person was represented by a solicitor then he/she may know why a remand was applied for.

The local court clerks office will have a record of what court sent what person to what jail on what date.
