I have Meteor and it works fine with my PS3. I have my dongle plugged into my PC which is connected to my PS3 via the ethernet cable and my PS3 is able to connect to the internet.

I'm trying to get Meteor to work with my ps3 until my fixed line broadband is activated.
But when I perform the connection test, i obtain the i.p address and the internet connection 'succeeded', but the playstation network Fails.

    Any idea how to fix??

    Thanks

No idea why it isn't working for you, buddy. I accessed PSN through a Meteor dongle for almost a year until recently with surprisingly good results. I found a video on YouTube which talked me through what to do, although it was for Vodafone, I think. Still worked fine.

If you're getting an IP address and internet connection then it sounds like you're doing it fine and that it's a problem with PSN. Have you connected to PSN before, through an actual broadband connection?

    ok thanks...
Im waiting for my fixed line broadband to be installed... hence why im trying to use Meteor in the meantime..

maybe it is issues with the ps network itself.
I'll try again today when i get home..

PSN was down a couple of times last week. You may just have been unlucky. if you can get the browser working, or Vidzone or 4OD/RTE Player playing then I don't think there's anything wrong with your set up.

You need to have your windows or antivirus firewall turned off for your ps3 to get an IP.

found the problem .. the problem was the playstation , not the setup or Meteor.
I tried on my friends ps3 and I got connected to the playstation network without issue.

I have to say, the performance was very good aswell.. no skipping...

Yeah it's a surprisingly good service. I'd drop out on FIFA maybe once an evening and would occasionally lag a small amount however all things considered it was fine.

I'm still glad to have an actual broadband connection now though.
