    MEOW! :D

But, to answer your question OP. Yes. And you can make plenty of friends by joining groups of likeminded individuals (be it music/film/other.....and probably always involving drink!)........Unless it's a Fight Club. I wouldn't recommend those.

If you have school aged kids is way easier as you become freinds with the other moms in your kids class.

    people you work with

    or join

    dance classes
    judo
    boot camp
    exercise classes
    aerobics
    Pilate's
    yoga
    art classes
    swimming lessons
do some sort of evening course

    best of luck

We're all shallow, we just don't admit it at first;)

Srsly though; in my experience in life, one friend tends to draw many more, it's a social dynamic thing.

i value friendship. i would never actively stop being some ones friend because their interests were not the same as mine, that would make me a shallow prick, and if i were like that unlikely to find decent friends.

You dont look for friends - you find each other©

Yeah, I did this a few years ago. Took a big step back from a group of friends that were on course for self-destruction. Great decision to make. Felt better about myself, and now, although we're not buddy buddies, we still hang out occassionally, and it's good fun.

I find holidays/living together/drunken sex usually makes me realise we 'have nothing in common'.

All my current local friends are ones from work...thankfully. Or else I'd be trying to work it out with the others :P

I always find something slightly weird about making friends through your children...not really sure why.

Hey guys just question I am currently in a situation where I had 2 mates fall out over both ther weddings. So basically these 2 wer best mates one was ment to be getting married this year and other next year. So basically they planned everythin together and wen next year's girl heard wer this year's girls venue was she said ur mad it's to far but this year's girl had her heart set on it so she thot no this is wer I want. So basically cutting long story short this year's girl never got married as relationship problems so she went deep into depression as me and next year's girl seen but we helped her get over it.this years girl full of hatred and revenge said to next year's girl u should go to the venue I looked it's class now I no she was wrong to say that but in muly opinion her head was al over place and friend should have known that. So now her and her partner have tyred to rekindle Wat they had and this is wer things get good. Next year's girl is planning on takin this year's girl venue. I understand it's not just ment for one person but in my opinion I think it is so wrong after seeing Wat ur friend went thru in my opinion again feels like Wat wasn't good enough for her so y did next year's girl say that and now choose it. This year's girl has told next year's girl how hurt she would be in they pick that venue as it bring up alot of memories but she wants to be ther to share her special day and next year's girl has chosen that venue so ther no longer speaking just lookin for people's opinion thank u

I stopped hanging out with lots of people, for lots of different reasons. I find it easy enough to meet new friends. Through work, through other friends, through himself.

    TL; DR

Two close friends planned to get married a year apart.

Friend 1 had venue picked but broke up with fella so wedding off.

Friend 2 decided to get married in same place friend 1 had planned to wed.

    Bleedin murder ensued.

    Advice would be delightful.

Yes, I'm in my late 30s and have had several groups of friends as I've grown up. School friends more or less disappeared once we all went to different colleges, we would meet now and again but discovered once we became adults that we didn't have much in common. I've also shed quite a few toxic friends who were no good for me and also some friends disappear once they become partnered.

Solution is to join a local group, or find something on Meetup.com

The way your post reads Louise, it sounds like you are unnable to string a sentence together to be honest and a bit immature which makes me think that maybe your friends also?

The text speak is like putting pins in your eyes. Use your words.

I'm kind of impressed that the word losing was used instead of loosing though.

    Jeez Louise!

Apologise and then revert to text speak again. Why?

Look, stay out of it and leave it between the two brides.
