I thought some of you might be interested in this and I couldn't find any reference to it in a search.

    The Cape Challenge
In 1939 Alex Henshaw challenged the world to beat his record breaking flight from London to Capetown and back again, solo in a single engined 200 hp propeller driven aeroplane.

2009-May-11 a new record was set, 3 Days, 15 Hours and 17 minutes by Charles "Chalkie" Stobbart, a fantastic effort. See more...
    NOW IT'S STEVE'S TURN

Sometime between 28th August and the 15th September 2010 Steve will take off on this historic flight.

UPDATE::::::: Take off planned for 04:38z on 31st August 2010 !!!

Best of luck, Steve and may your avgas never run out.

    Track aircraft
"The two ghost planes, representing Alex Henshaw and Chalkie Stobbart, are having some problems and are still on the ground having their bits and bytes checked over.

We're working on that furiously and as soon as their electron tanks are topped off we'll zoom them into their correct positions so that they appear in the correct places on the map to fly along with Steve."
