Hi. Have a question for you all knowing out there. Thing is Imagine wimax is coming to Mallow and i was thinking to get it. So I contacted imagine they confirmed its available in my area and said they will send modem when wimax goes live. That was at the beginning of this month. So now we got a call from imagine saying they going to send modem. I say can you hold on as we moving soon so i would like to test it out at my new place. They say we have someone to ring you later on and confirm which they did today but the thing is today i was told it will have to be an outdoor diamond shaped antenna about a feet and a half big. So my question would be is this a fixed wimax or still mobile? Maybe someone already have this unit installed and could give some info. Tnx

Imagine don't do fixed Wimax, it's all mobile.

Sometimes though they install outdoor aerial if you are far from mast. That doesn't make it a Fixed nextwork. You can get directional outdoor aerials for Mobile Phone network too.

I think Imagine also have IBB's Breezemax, which may be Fixed WiMax. But AFIAK they don't market that as WiMax.
