I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for office wear which isn't too expensive, but also isn't really cheap and tacky. I'm looking for the usual black/grey trousers and plain tops but would like to find some prettier tops as well, and am always on the lookout for skirts and dresses I can wear to work. I got a really nice black shirt dress in H&M the other day and would like to find more of that type of thing.

Zara usually have nice dresses suitable for work, I have quite a few from there. Though I probably have more from Warehouse, but Zara is more affordable. I'm dying for a Zara binge actually (but since I'm going to Lisbon next week I'm restraining myself so haven't been in in about 10 days, so not sure if teh sale trash is finally gone). I also have a number of suits (including a divine tweedy pale grey dress suit) from Zara

The new Mango collection has some lovely pieces, a camel coloured skirt in particular stood out for me, they also have some nice girly blouses are smart enough for the office.

Savida in Dunnes has the odd thing that looks really nice, but I don't find their fit works for me.

Forever 21 (when it opens) occasionally has suitable things, I got a great rayo/jersey shift there, very unusual pattern. It'll be chaos when it opens though, and it's a lot of work to go through the store rack by rack - but you have to to get anything decent (this may be because I'm outside their target demographic)
