we play matches in the intervarsity league and at various tournaments, the siege in Limerick is great, don't worry too much about fitness levels. there are some players in better shape than others but we plan to do more training on that this year, plus there is also the fun of finding out how many pints fit into a disc :D

a few of the guys will be just throwing the disc amongst themselves on campus but they'll be happy to get a game going if there are the numbers there

Also, Omg! They can throw it so far! Like woah!

we'll teach you the techniques for throwing like that, it's all in the release. As for promoting the club, it's part of my role as team captain plus it's good to spread the word so that people realise just how much fun it is

Yeah exactly! I wouldn't really have paid it much attention otherwise! I'll try help spread the word by convincing my friends to try out! :)

If there's not, just set one up. That's what I'm gonna have to do with the Airsoft one (basically Paintball except with pelet guns)

Hey I don't know if you've seen this or not but I've just found a page that has some info about how to set up a club. You might be interested. :)

    It's down near the bottom.

Oh I've just thought of something, there's no Gaisce President's Award club, is there? I'm supposed to be going for Gold this year :/

I was just wondering if NUIM has a musical society, i.e. a club that stages or has an interest in musicals.

Could someone PM me the information if there is one?.

Yo, SU President here. The Drama Society put on a massive musical every year (last year was Fame: the Musical) and there's a college/town society called the Maynooth Community Players who do four or five shows a year.

There will be signs up for auditions for the musical in the first couple of weeks of term.

    Much Love,
    Aengus

Oh thank you! I'd be interested in trying out for it. Do you need to have experience though with acting and being on stage? Or can beginners like myself give it a shot?

Ah that sounds awesome, I didn't know the Drama soc did musicals, I thought it would literally be plays and suchness?

What time in the year would the musical be on, and any ideas as to what it might be!

I'm thinking drama soc could be a winner so. :D

The easiest way to describe it is a more tactical version of Paintball, except with pellet guns.

I'll try get all the stuff that needs sorting by the end of next week, and have it up and running by the middle of next month.

I will say, it can get expensive. A days skirmish with rental will cost around 50 quid (maybe less with large groups), but with your own kit and stuff, it'll go down to 25 ish. The problem is, your kit will set you back about 250 for a good starter package (gun, camo, boots, facemask).

And, it is seriously addictive. I started at Christmas, and since then, I have owned more then 15 different types of AEG's (Airsoft Electric Devices, the gun), more then 10 types of Pistols, have bought, sold and traded my way through the internet, have built up a fair few contacts in the Airsoft community that will happily lend a helping hand with this, and even set up my own website (IrishAirsoftSites.com, which I had no experience in before I had 20 quid in my paypal, and a weekend off).

When I have it up and running, I plan on having skirmishes (days out) once every 3 or 4 weeks (due to cost), and I can guarantee, it will be some of the best laughs you can have.

    Any other questions?

What times do the clubs be on at? I know they're not organised yet or anything but do they be on during the day or in the evenings? I want to join a few but i have to get a bus home every evening at 6 so I wont be able to do anything after that :(
