Quinn Life Saving - PITA getting your money out

I have a Quinn life saving account with their "Freeway" funds.

You can do most stuff online just fine, it's a bit basic but it seems to work.

As i'm getting married I now need the cash and was a little surprised to note there was no option online to cash out or even just take out some funds.
I checked the documentation and its not very helpful either, just all about how you can give them more money and nothing about how to get it back bar calling customer service.

So I called their customer care and they said I need to do it in a writing ..ok a bit old fashioned in this day and age..
But - they also wanted me to send back the original cover letter they sent me, this isn't like a fancy certificate , its just a bog standard print out stating my policy number....do they not have this on file already??!!..can I not sent them a letter saying I want to end policy number xyz?? customer care assured me this cover letter was vitally important to their bureaucratic process.

Today they called me to say they also now need something called my "payment schedule" ..I am not happy, I said I already told them my policy number, I already wrote to them instructing them to cancel the policy and give me my money...but they said it is how they have to do things there..

I checked all the letter they sent me when I got back home and I can see nothing called this. It's just frustrating, why do they need these letters??, its all bog standard stuff, there is nothing on any of the documentation to say that you MUST KEEP THIS SUPER IMPORTANT (generic printout it seems to me) letter if you ever want , heaven forbid, to take out the money you saved with them.

I'm just going to send them every bloody document and letter they ever sent me to shove up their...

I was happy with Quinn Freeway funds before and planned to use it again after the marriage costs are sorted out, but they've lost me permanently with this nonsense.

My advice, avoid, or if you've lost any of their multiple letters then prepare for a nightmare getting YOUR money back.

I'd suggest checking out www.askaboutmoney.com as I'd say this is a frequently discussed issue there. It's not something I've come across before.

To me, it sounds like the policy is to make it hard to withdraw so most people don't!. And with Quinn's need for cash reserve's I don't expect it to be made any easier.
