Hey, im looking to buy a cheapo netbook for djing with this year in college as ive moved on from CDJ's (too expensive for me), and my laptop is too expensive and big to use when djing, as its a 17.5 inch laptop and weighs alot. You'd be much better off using your good laptop, I've a 13" Macbook and I'm finding the screen a bit too small, 10" would be a nightmare.

I use a toshiba qosmio. It's never been connected to the internet. I dont think i'd go back using something with only 1gb ram to run traktor on either. Plus the screen is way too small. If you will be using an analogue mixer you might tough it out but if you are using a controller - you will need to see the mixer controls on screen and it will be a nightmare.

dont get windows 7, most midi controllers hate it

go for xp if they will give you the option

    +1000

DO NOT GET A NETBOOK YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!

Weight is not really an issue I'd swap mine for a 17" tomorrow if I could

Yeah decided to not get it, considering my laptop has a built in sound card and a big monitor, I suppose the pros outweigh the cons in the end. Ill have to come up with something to cover it though as id be afraid someone will spill beer on it or knock it off the stand or something.

    cheers anyway
