Small Laptop

I want a new laptop for college, with a screen size of about 12" to 14" and light weight but with good enough battery power so it's easy for transport. I have about 650e (but more if it's really worth it) to spend and would love to know if anyone has any suggestions!
I good processor would be great but a massive hard drive isn't as I already have decent enough external hard drives.

Perhaps an Inspiron m101z from dell? 580 yo yos. should suit your needs.

Thanks, had my eye on that one but not sure if I want a dell. Would be interested what other options are out there!!

ah dell aint that bad. What will you mainly be using the laptop for? Any gaming?

I need it for college, doing a business course and have a bit of a commute. Gaming wouldn't be my first concern, looking at HP laptops at the moment.

Hp have an even worse rep than dell. Read a few months ago they had a return rate of 15%...but dont quote me on that. ;) How about a Samsung x125?

Oh, that looks quite tempting, but I don't know much about processors, what intel is the processor equivalent to? It's an AMD Athlon™ II Neo Processor??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,621 ✭✭✭Jaafa

Put it this way....that processor is better than Intel's atom processor which is in most other laptops of that size. You probably wont find a better processor in a laptop that size and at that price. That also (unless Im mistaken) is one of AMD's new line of processors.

There's a dm4 in click, few different modifications I think but it's essentially the same. Pretty sure I'd get it

Do they ship to ireland? Because if not....good luck finding it at that price here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 99 ✭✭Gargled

Just ordered a dell. I know a dell?

€770 for i5 with 4GB and a 500GB hard drive. 1G of ATI graphics card too. Better than anything I could find in Click or PC world

it's an irish shop, a bit over 800e but they give student discounts so that'll bring it down a fair bit, and it's a shop here :)

    Wasnt sure about the processor.

She will only be using it for web browsing and a little work so it should suit her needs.

Not possible in Ireland I'm afraid.

Unless it seriously cuts down on other components or has a sub standard build quality.
