Derek Burnett receives award

    Nice to see a bit of good news for a change. From the ICPSA website:
    Burnett Receives Award-25/08/10
    25 August, 2010

    In recognition of his Bronze Medal win in the Olympic Trap event at the recent European Championships in Russia, Derek Burnett has received a special award of €5,000 from the Irish Sports Council High Performance Unit.

    We would like to thank the ISC for this gesture as the award is very much appreciated both financially and as acknowledgement of the achievement of Derek, the ICPSA and our sport.

    Great for Derek and very well deserved.

    Unfortunately it proves that the ISC are still focused on rewarding success instead of investing for it. :(
