Hi all, have a very important hurling final saturday at half 1. I was just wondering what I should eat on the day of the game to maximise my energy for it, should I eat once or twice that day?
Last year like a fool I ate steak on the day of the final and I could barely move so any suggestions from some people in the know would really help!

Big fan of cereal myself...about 90 mins to 2 hours before games.

I eat a bowl of pasta about 2 hours before a game or training, works for me. Make sure you are hydrated enough as well before the game as well, plenty of water all week, not just before the game

Was always told to consume a substantial breakfast (porridge, eggs, toast, cereal and fruit) before an afternoon match with just a small snack (banana/flapjack) an hour/90mins before. Make sure to keep very hydrated in the 48 hours leading up to the game but avoid consuming too much water during the match to avoid cramping/nausea while running about.
