    Hi,

I have two interviews this week (thank god was giving up hope :)). I bought a nice grey work dress and was considering just wearing tights. with it However friends are suggesting I wear a suit as one of the interviews is with a large international company. So I am not too sure.. any suggestions would be very helpful thanks?? (sorry if this was done before)

I would wear the dress with a suit jacket if you have one the same colour.

Generally on these threads you will be advised to wear a suit for safety reasons.

Personally I prefer to wear a skirt in interviews as can never get trousers to fit me right or look smart. My interview outfit is a black dress with a black suit jacket over it.

Penneys have a nice chanel style jacket at the moment that just sits below waist level so if you are slim it would look nice with the dress - its a charcoal black and has a nice brooch detail.

I work for a large international company and our dress code is 'business formal' which means suits. I would definitely advise a suit for an interview as it could look like you haven't made an effort otherwise.

Depends on the job. If it's a client facing role, then you should probably wear a business suit as it's what you'll have to wear meeting clients. If it's not, just the dress is probably fine if it is a formal dress (you know, this kind of thing or any fitted shift). But if you can get/have a jacket to match do wear one. I prefer a skirt suit myself for interviews, and have a couple of dress suits (suits don't have to have trousers!!) from Zara I wear to clients. In the office I'm less formal. For an interview best to err on the side of caution.

As mentioned above, if you have a jacket or could get a jacket to wear over the dress it would be better than just wearing the dress, especially as one of the interviews is with a large international company. As mentioned above, just wearing a dress would look sloppy and as if you didn't make the effort. It's far better to be overdressed than underdressed.

Thanks everyone, bought a suit earlier just to be safe. Now have to start all the interview prep :)
