If it's newer than 4.0.1 can't be done yet.

    Hello to all,

my name is Joe - I'm a newcomer on this board and I also want to know where I can get an open Iphone4 (so that I can use my austrian SIM card) in the Dublin or Cork area.

I'll make my vacations the next 2 weeks in the southern part of Ireland and search for a gift for my son.

    Thanks in advance

    Joe from Austria

Only place to buy new sim-free is Apple.ie, alternatively try adverts.ie for a second hand jailbroken unlocked version or second hand sim free version.

Hi Joe, I just picked up an unlocked white 3gs iPhone in perfect condition + a Kensington battery for my son on adverts.ie for 270. Well worth checking out.

Yep. No shop sells sim free in Ireland - is the direct answer to your question.

Stocks in the UK are back up so you can walk in and pay 599GBP (730euro) for a iPhone 4 in the Apple Store in Belfast, Glasgow, London etc.

I asked Compu B in Cork and they said No. They would only be selling on contract to 3. But didn't know when.

I saw them last week. There were 6 of them in stock at the time.

It's not an Apple store, its a Compu B store. And they only sell them locked to 3. Call them up if you don't believe me.

Was in Milton Keynes Yesterday and they did not have any. Rang each of the London stores as I was going to get the train in but none had any in stock.
