    I'm sure we'll figure it out as we go along but just wondering if people can give some advice about the "legal" things we should do now that we're married. I know there's no obligation to make certain changes but advice as to what to be thinking about would be helpful, e.g. changing names and tax credits etc. You know, all the grown-up things we should do now!!!

    Congratulations!

    Are you self employed or an employee?
    If self employed, your best wait 'til you do your tax returns to inform revenue of your change in status.
    If you're a paye employee, then call the helpline and they'll advise you how best to divide the 'sharable' credits/rate band, based on your income levels.

    sorry to hijack the thread namurt, but I'm trying to change my name on my drivers license, has anyone any idea if I can download the form anywhere? I've tried citizens information who referred me to the RSA website. Aparently I need a d401 form but it appears to only be available in garda stations & the tax office. I'll go to the garda station if need be but it would be much handier to download.

    The second thing I'd do is learn the difference between "!" and "?" when asking a question, but I'd do that after the shagging. That's just me though, you might like to do it the other way around...
