Protein Shake directly before HIIT - good or bad?

I get so much good advice from this board I keep on coming back...

So I am changing up my workout slightly to incorporate HIIT.

I usually have a small tin of tuna and some impact whey isolate about 60-90 minutes before the gym. My plan is to go up and do an hour of weights session then do 30 minutes(5 minute warm up, 20 minute intervals and 5 minute cool down) of HIIT after the weights.

My question is when should I take my post workout protein shake. Directly after the weights session before the HIIT or am I ok to wait until directly after the HIIT

Sorry but I trawled through a few websites and it seemed like people were 50/50 on it so thought I would try here.

    Cheers,

I'd imagine it wouldn't make a huge difference, but I'd go with taking it directly after HIIT.

Id say both before and after

cheers lads, the reason I was wary of taking it directly before is I wouldnt want my stomach to get dodgy during the HIIT.

valid point if its running you're doing.

sure try 1 scoop of whey in 150-200ml of water.
such a small volume of fluid shouldnt upset the ned kelly

yes, my reply was for real.
I also qualifed the reply by saying to have the shake in 150-200mls of water.

    and its a TREADMILL
you're not running on spools of thread

having done hillsprints/sprints first thing in the morning(no breakie) if your really pushing yourself i wouldnt be surprised if you got dizzy/sick the fist couple of times, now im saying im sooooooooooo:D hardcore that the only way to do hiit is till you get sick, thats just what happened to me, but i wouldnt advise takin in anything before it just my 2c

you could have got sick/felt sick simply because you did it first thing in the morning with no fuel in the tank after being in the scratcher for 8 hours.

anything Ive read about exercise in the morning in relation to cardio has been to keep it LIT.

just to requalify what i said above, the whey could be taken 30-40 minutes before the workout to let it settle if people are so afraid they'll be calling huey doing their intervals

if you're doing proper HIIT you won't be anywhere near a f*cking treadmill.

    This. obviously.

As for feeling sick, surely it depends on the person. I take it afterwards always. But I could see the benefit to taking it before, as close to weights as possible. If you can, why not. try it once, if you feel sick stop, if you don't keep going.

Sometimes its just as good, even better, to just try yourself rather than start a thread.

Sure if that was everyones attitude then half the threads on boards wouldnt be here.

I took it after, no way am I taking it before, nearly spewed my water up in the middle of it. Tough going.

Half the threads on boards are pointless.:D:D

I probably phrased the previous a bit wrong, I didn't mean to sound like your question/thread was pointless. I meant debating back and forth on thread is a bit pointless. As the only the person knows themselves if they'll get sick if they take it before, and if they don't know they'll just have to try it and see.
