Since i have an iphone, i want to appear "techie and cool".

im wondering, instead of printing, can i find a way to save this on the iphone and get it easily?

im travelling to london and have an itinerary in mind from a tube station to a marker i have. ive traced this route on my pc on google maps.

is there a way to transfer that route with the map to my iphone without having to connect on that day?id be roaming and do not want to use data while in uk.

do i have to print it as a pdf, find a way to send it to my phone then use a 3rd party programme, or can i send the google map with directions straight to my phone?i can do that from home while im on wifi.

    thanks for the help.

Google maps will always use data when it's open. However, if you're on vodafone don't worry, you can data roam

Short answer is yes. If you email yourself the link to the route, and then open that up on your iphone, then it will open the route on the Google Maps application on your phone.

Your main problem here is that without a data connection you won't be able to zoom in or out.

Any kind of proper mapping and navigation you'll need to buy a satellite navigation app. They aren't cheap, but that's the best you can get.

Your other option is to buy a book. The London A-Z is pretty much the navigation bible in London. There's an iPhone version, but reviews are mixed. Some people claim that it's nothing more than a scanned-in book, however it does incorporate GPS. It doesn't have navigation though.

    you could...

    1. install ibooks (its free)
    2. save your directions as pdf
    3. import your pdf into itunes
    4. sync with your iphone

you will now be able to browse your directions directly through the pdf reader in ibooks
