    Hi guys,

Currently on JSB but have found a job; I won't be starting until the 8th of September though. I have to sign-on a the social welfare office tomorrow and I wanted to know should I inform them of this? This might seem like a silly question but I am still entitled to the JSB until the day I start work right?

Also I start on a Wedensday so if I am entitled to my last weeks JSA how will I ever collect it?

    Thanks

Don't say nothing to them until the day you start

Yes you are entitled to JSA up until you start work. When you sign on tomorrow ask them how you sign off

My JSB gets paid on a Wednesday but my post office lets me collect it up to Saturday

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

You can also sign off online and request your last payment by cheque

Yes, you should tell them on your final sign on date. Either that or be prepared to refund them any overpayment. Just a word of warning.. if you repay them an overpayment make sure to keep the receipt because they will lose all record of it!
