ALL SAINTS

Are their boots (that you pay quite a price for) water proof?

I was thinking of getting a pair to wear to Electric Picnic, but only if they're waterproof, obviously.

Anyone have any experience of being in torrential rain/mud flows in a pair of All Saints boots?

What kind of Boots?? If I was going to EP I'd wear my Hunters tbh, the muck etc would just destroy anything else!!

Which pair were you looking at? I personally wouldn't wear them to EP, a lot of them are really soft leather which could easily get ruined in the muck and wet.
I wore Doc Martens last year which were great, but I did step in a deep puddle and the water came in through the lace holes, might be an issue with the All Saints ones too.

All Saints boots are a bit too nice for a festival, I'd be terrified I'd wreck them.

+1 for Dr Martens, they're fairly waterproof and way more comfy than wellies. Better for dancing about in too as you're less likely to slip and land on your bum.

I bought this years pair in TK Maxx for €35 at the weekend

And also, Dr. Martens will get worn again I guess. Can't exactly work wellies into a regular daily outfit, I guess.

Docs are cheaper than Hunters, right?

If you find them on sale they are. If you're near a TK Maxx have a look, they had loads of them in the one in Galway this weekend in patent pink, green, red and yellow.
Hunters would be a good idea though if you're planning on going to a lot of festivals, or if you can find them on sale somewhere. I wouldn't bother with cheap wellies, they're usually uncomfortable and don't last. I bought wellies in Penney's the first year I went to Oxegen and even though it was relatively dry they still leaked.

I wouldn't wear something good to EP. It's been raining quite a lot today, and given the forecast for the next few days the chances are it could be quite muddy at Stradbally. Why risk ruining something good and/or expensive when you could pick up a cheap pair of wellies somewhere? A word of warning, though, a lot of the cheap wellies can be quite uncomfortable if you're wearing/walking in them 24/7.

You must be crazy buying a new pair of All Saints boots and then wearing them to electric picnic! unless you're planning on never wearing them again. I brought those kind of boots to oxegen to wear if the weather was dry and no mud, obviously it wasn't haha. I was in my wellies all weekend. I got plain green dunlop wellies and they were great, I wore penneys wellies one year as well and they were just as good. I've never worn docs so I can't comment. but whatever you bring just definitely bring a pair of wellies. hope you're lucky with the weather and you don't need them though :)

No way! What a waste of money. I usually spend a week and a half at electric picnic and just wear old converse. If it gets mucky I wear wellies. (kids section in dunnes...€8!) Aw, wish I was going this year.

Just wear a pair of wellies you mad thing! I made the mistake of wearing my All Saints Boots to Oxegen and they were never the same after it. No water got in after it but they're just in bits now.

    Wellies all the way!
