When my father passed away I was only 15 and so my Grandfather kept hold of the ashes. Now that I have turned 18 do I have a legal right to getting them or not? He has kept them on a shelf ever since and I know its not what my dad would have wanted. But because my Grandfather doesn't talk to the rest of the family, Im afraid that If I ask him for them then he will do something with them out of spite! Do I have any legal right not? or do I have to wait until my Grandfather passes?

    Hello Amber,
Unfortunately this is not the best place to ask such a question. Realistically the best advice is to contact a solicitor rather than asking on the internet.
Please drop me a private message if you have any further questions.
