I have one of the Cork football season tickets and I was just totting up my attendances at the matches this year and I should qualify for a ticket for the final. However I would like to know if it is really trustworthy;did anyone here have one last year and did you get a ticket for the final?

It just seems a bit too good to be true. I suppose it'll be OK though.

Bizzare. Even with the GAA do something right they can't win.

Well they are not exactly know for their generosity. Not for nothing are they known as the Grab All Association!

I have been to every game this year, bar one. The season ticket is a great idea for regulars like us. It is great value, is well run and you are guaranteed a good seat. Hopefully we`ll be needing ours for one more game after this weekend, but if not we`ll sign up again for next year. If you have been to most Cork games you`ll be sitting in the middle of the Cusack on 19th of September.

Theres one thing im still trying to figure out about the season ticket.
You know the way it automatically charges you for the ticket once the opening round of the championship is done no matter if youre going to the match or not(Pay & Play as its called)? A few people I know asked ticketmaster about some of the booking methods this year and ticketmaster said they couldnt sell it in some ways so they can see which seats get released for sale to the general public if theyre not claimed.
This doesnt seem right to me cause this means theyre charging you for the seat and then charging somebody else for the same seat you already paid for so theyre basically selling it twice.
Are they actually allowed do this?Nobody I know has been able to get a reply off them when asking for clarification on this

Looks like you don't understand how the season ticket works.

You don't need to 'claim' a seat for each game. You are charged automatically and the seat remains unused if you don't turn up. You can opt out of one game upon which you won't be charged and the seat sold to someone else, i.e not (or never) allocated to a season ticket holder.

Seats are never sold twice so not sure where you got that from.

Yes this is correct, if you are a season ticket holder and you don't turn up to a game then your seat will be unoccupied. They don't put it up for general sale and charge you also, that would be plain robbery.

It was in a ticketmaster e-mail after someone I know enquired about why you couldnt book seats together earlier in the year and why they couldnt just scan and assign the ticket at the gate like last year instead of booking online. It said so they could keep track of unclaimed tickets for a limited release window for the general public.
When they were asked to clarify that point no reply was received.

They probably re-release any who opt out.

Last years system was much better, I particulary ,missed having the option to buy guest tickets this year. It was kinda stupid considering all games I was at had plenty of room for more

Could be what they mean.Would help if they actually replied when asked for clarification though.

Last years system gave much better seats too

Not sure how you can say that as the seats this were appropriately the same as last year.

With regards to allocating seats together the guy in the GAA ticket office allocated our four together for each game, we just emailed the week of the game. No issues what so ever. Better system than last year as we could ensure we had seats under cover.

Finally on the topic of guest tickets I believe they didn't offer the facility this year as the number of season tickets was increased significantly from 250 per code in 2009. With double headers making up a lot of games it would mean that season tickets holders could not be guaranteed to be seated in section 305 if you've fours sets of fans and a number of extra guest tickets.

Kinda easily. For every waterford game this year we were down a block or 2 from last year where we were on the 65.This year we were more often on the 45 or near the 21 on a couple occasions.Plus in croke park we were at the very back(row VV) in comparison to CC last year.Although the row was down to how ticketmaster allocate instead of just being assigned at the door

You weren't in section 304 or 305 for every game? Thats what the season ticket should be.

How often did you email the ticket office to ask them to place you in a particular location? Personally speaking I'd rather be in VV than CC to ensure I don't get soaked, but if you never tell them your preference they won't know.

Not all games are in Croker though.

For the Waterford games in Semple the seats werent as good as last year. Still pretty good though!

I considered getting one of these this year but never got round to it. I work weekends so can have a run of missing several games together.

As a matter of interest if i was a season ticket holder and couldn't make a game can i give my ticket to somebody else so they can use my seat? Is there anything from stopping you doing this?

They don't ID you at the style.
Does this now mean my GAA Season Ticket is non-transferable? No! You can of course pass on your GAA Season Ticket to a friend or family member to use if you cannot attend.

If you mail them they will register your enquiry and will be in contact when they go on sale for 2011. seasonticket@gaa.ie.
As far as I can remember they need your name and contact details and how many season tickets you're applying for.
    Hope this helps!
