    My situation is as follows;
    Self employed but quickly running out of work.
    In process of seperating from wife.
    2 kids at school.
    Wife has own business and can just about support kids so kids will stay with her.

    Am I likely to get any help from Government by way of rent allowance and income support.

    I will contact citizens advice but would appreciate comments from here also.

    If you are still living with your wife both her income and yours will be taken into account.
    However if you have moved out the means test will be on your income only. If you are self employed the means test will be done on your latest profit and loss accounts.
