Great fun to watch. I was walking to Howth and saw it hovering behind the lifeboat outside the harbour. By the time I got to the harbour it had turned into an impromptu airshow, including a very impressive 60 degree pitchup and 80 degree right bank (wingover), a few steep hovering pitchdowns and a final 'wingwag' before exiting stage left. No pics, but hopefully someone else saw it as well. A well executed display that showed off the capabilities of what looks like a ponderous, overweight whale. Very impressive.

As well as those photos, I've some not-so-great video of that and a few other manoeuvres. No sound which really doesn't help.

I was walking along Bray sea front yesterday afternoon (about 3pm?) and it did a low level sweep along the sea, hugged the edge of Bray Head, disappeared around it and then reappeared a few minutes later and headed back northwards again.

Here's a picture of the "wing over" in Howth. Just to point out, this picture is NOT upside down (notice the light on the underside of the aircraft and the shadow towards the back windows and tail). It was taken while looking up towards the aircraft from the East Pier.

    (p.s. I didn't embed the pic as it's huge!)

Pilot probably dropped his mobile phone and had to go "inverted" to retrieve it :D

Have you bought her a pint from all of us here yet? Excellent shot, that would be an excellent cover for a Magazine, talk about an eye catching shot for an SAR Bird like the S61N.

Should be emailed off to the Crew of Rescue 116.

I had sent it to a few of them (I know some of the lads) and I sent the pilot on the high res image today. Needless to say, he seems very happy with a picture of his nice work!

Have to give it to them. They put on a great demo on Sunday! Lots of happy faces around. :D
