    I am a leisurely cyclist who is interested in improving my fitness. I'm looking for some tips on a new bike.

    By way of introduction I am looking to buy a Brooks 'wide load' sprung saddle for comfort (to accommodate my own wide load!), otherwise I am looking for something lightweight, hybrid/upright bike as I find it hard to cycle road bikes (hurts my back!)

    Any advice or tips are greatly appreciated!!! :)

    Hey

    I suppose really you need to think to yourself, how much are you willing to spend. If you dont already have a helmet, cycling shorts etc then you need to factor in a few hundred for these, 150euro I think wil get good beginner stuff like the helmet etc..

    Then, it comes down to your budget in the bike. I have only got into Cycling lately after selling my Trek Mountain bike. I think it really pays to buy a good recognisable brand name, because as I found with my mountain bike, you can sell afterwards if you wish to upgrade.

    If your thinking along the Halfords line of bike, yes, they are probably good enough value, but their after sales service and the depreciation of the bike is desperate compared to a "proper bike"


    All of this is just a matter of opinion... So first anyway, I think you need to sort out a budget :)
