The Rude Health exhibition might appeal to some of you. You can get free tickets to it from certain health food stores (like Nourish). Their exhibitors include Alvin Connor (fancy crystal deodarants), Burt's Bees, Lavera, Meridian Foods, Natasha's Living Foods, Plamil Organics, Provamel UK, The Happy Pear and many others.

Oh what a shame I am in Manchester that weekend :(

I would have gone to that if I was here with a spare bag for the free samples!!

oh i love going to stuff like this in the RDS, know of any other places to get free tickets? in DL perhaps? :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,128 ✭✭✭sweet-rasmus

I think you get them in stores which are members of the irish association of health stores. I haven't been in the stores in Dun Laoghaire in a bit, but I presume if they aren't members they won't have the passes (I can't see any Dun Laoghaire places listed). I picked mine up in Nourish Liffey St :)

Of course you can also buy a ticket at the door at the RDS. These tickets at health food stores are complimentary ones :)

    Good point!
For anyone that can't make it to the freebies €12 is not too bad considering the guest speakers that will be there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,128 ✭✭✭sweet-rasmus

Went along today. Spent loads! Plamil had a good range of their egg-free mayonnaises. I got a lemongrass one and a tarragon and chives one. Ohhh and an orange chocolate bar with cranberries. Much cheaper than usual. Meridian had new jams there (bramble and plum) and had a deal of 3 jams/nut spreads/pesto for €5. A steal! Oh and the Lavera stand had a wide range at much cheaper than usual prices. Waited for a demonstration from Stephen and Darragh Flynn (Happy Pear) 'cause I couldn't resist ;) (They have another one on at 3pm tomorrow). Lots of free samples. Great day out. And of course, in on free tickets. I really didn't expect it to be so good :D

I was there today too, it was really good, got a load of stuff, loads of Dee's Burgers, Jason things, Happy Pear food and more. €12 would have been way too dear so I was glad I got free tickets. Main complaint was loads of rabid old people getting in the way in a desperate attempt to prevent death. Loads of weirdo hippy types floating about too. I was hoping to bump into boardsie people so I could freak them out cuz they wouldn't have a clue who I was but didn't see any of you  apart from tar who is still tied up in the boot

ha ha ha! too true :) not many young 'uns. Did you see that guy dressed in orange for the Happy Pear? Was that necessary?! Was there for about 3 hours - must have walked past you at some point ;)

Truth is it didn't sound so appealing after he found out it wasn't a nude exhibition with chocolate.

 Did you not explain to her about that other important thing I had to do watching black books all day

Thanks for offer Maameeo! I thought my parents would collect me right at the door, buy me things all day, feed me all at time that they might call late, but no :pac:

Did anyone go to the talks? What were they like?

I was there today, good mix of stands. Even thought it was free I spent about €350. That includes a water filer/tap/"free" extra filer, a Membership of Patrick Holfords GL Diet thingy* for the missus, some bars, some tea and some amazing smoked cheese and olives.
I don't have many principles but one is never paying into exhibitions which are nothing more than sellers selling.

yes he's mainly a sales man but I've been around long enough to know what's nonsense and what's valid and he does talk a lot of sense.

I see that this will be returning on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th September 2011. Any word on free tickets yet?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,128 ✭✭✭sweet-rasmus

Perhaps you mean Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th Sept? Nourish are usually the ones with free tickets. Haven't seen any yet!
