Well done to Sligo who beat Kerry yesterday in the All Ireland Junior football final by 2-10 to 1-7.They previously won the title in 1935. They trained with the senior panel throughout the year and won the All Ireland despite losing 11 players to the senior panel throughout the year.

Excuse my ignorance but why is this?

its effectively like when a club team win a junior championship and go up to inter or from inter to senior.crappy rule.bit like the way meath and dublin and i think(but am open to correction)cork and kerry cant field any players for their county junior team that played senior for their club the previous year.

Well done Sligo. It is great for any county to beat any Kerry team in an All-Ireland Final.
