I have a large aerial (no mast amp) on the roof pointing to three rock , im in swords , im getting a good signal , i have two tv's with mpeg4 tuners and a stb , the picture on the stb never breaks quality is 82% but on the two tv's every 10mins it will pixilate.Im assuming the tuners in the tv's need a better signal any ideas of what i need without having to get up on the roof.the feed from my aerial is split at the side of the house , could i just put a mast amp there or is that to far away?i did try a adjustable plug in booster and the signal level did go up on the tv but pixilates every half hour yet strangely the stb never pixilates.any ideas would help.thanks

It sounds like that signal strength/quality isn't really the main problem, but if the picture is breaking up every ten minutes then something like a thermostat or timing switch could be causing interference which isn't being suppressed. From the information here, that's what I would assume. It doesn't have to be in your own home either.

Ideally, the splitter should be shielded, and the downlead cable from the aerial to the splitter and splitter to receivers should be double shielded as well (copper film under the braiding).

A plug-in booster more often than not doesn't supply adequate solutions. It's black magic at to wherever it helps or not, any amplifier is always better being close to the aerial if it is needed. The problem here is that it could end up overloading the receiver as normal signal levels seem fine.
