Air lock in heating system

    I've been woken the last couple of nights by a loud knocking noise coming from where my immersion is upstairs. This happens quite regularly & normally I just adjust the temperature knob beside the immersion & it stops but last night it continued constantly so this morning I decided to turn on the boiler (for the first time in 6 months) and bleed the rads to see would this solve the probem.
    As soon as I turned the boiler the same loud knocking noise came from the boiler and it failed to heat any of the rads for the half hour I had it on.
    There's obviously some type of air-lock in the system - would this stop my rads from heating?

    yeah, get it checked out, could be caused by a leak, and it wont seal itself, might just be something simple
