Have read great reviews about Mac Face and Body foundation. Does anybody know if it's available in Dublin Airport and how much? Is it in B.T.? Big price difference? Good coverage? Natural looking?
Am currently using, and loving, Revlon Colorstay, but would like less of a made-up look for weekends and Mac might be the "you'd never think I was wearing makeup"????.

I know a good company that does natural (without bad chemicals) make-up and body products, but have to buy them through independent consultants or online.

Thanks - what's the name of the company?? i'll check it out although do find it better to actually be able to test the product before purchasing, esp. foundation as colours often very different on each skin.

MAC Face and Body is a pro product so only sold in BT on Grafton Street. I'm not sure how much its sold for as I bought mine in the London Pro store.

Its a light to medium foundation. Only really worth getting if your skin is in good condition as not too much coverage. Its slightly heavier than a tinted moisturiser. You'll need to apply with a brush or sponge (go for brush!) as its quite a thin consistency.

I've used it the past 4 years and I love it. Very natural looking. I also use it on my arms when going out at night to get rid of the thread veins and redness you get there.

Best to go in and try it on in BTs. It will be a bit of a difference to Revlon's Colourstay!

    Thanks Larianne.

I'm using Bobbi Brown tinted moisturiser but it tends to slide off my face and it looks like make-up (when I wear it to work colleagues have said "Oh, you're wearing makeup today..you don't usually wear makeup" despite the fact that I wear "real" make-up Mon - Fri. and they see me!!). THought it might be the wrong colour but no. It does tend to shine a lot and have to use powder and bit of bronzer to make it less shiny and flat looking.

Whats the staying power of Mac F&B and is a powder needed over it??

I don't live in Dublin so it'll be a case of going there, try it on, walk round for an hour and make the final decision so hints/advice are appreciated.
    Thanks

    Your welcome!

It really depends on your skin. I mean, on me it could look totally different than on you. On me, I just powder my t-zone and chin and that's me done. I might have to powder later but that's a given really.

I'd say the BB Tinted Moisturiser doesn't suit your skin if its visible and people are commenting on it.

Definitely do this. Also, go in at a quiet time. Early morning is best so you can get the artist to give you a good application of the foundation. That's all I can think off really.

Will follow your recommendations...am curious to see if this is THE PRODUCT for me!! And I "glow" rather than shine!!
    Thanks

its only in bt on grafton st in ireland. another good 'sheer' coverage is dior nude. If you're not in dublin that might be easier to find

I really love Face and Body - I get mine in BTs Grafton Street.
I find that it goes on really good when i use the mac 168 brush.

Thanks Storm and Slow. All my questions answered.
And it's "cheaper" than I had thought considering the size of bottle. I imagine it's buildable and more than 1 application might be required. I wonder if it's a case of "less is more" or "more is less"??? Getting the "natural look" is exhausting!!

I think its fab for the natural look.
Personally I wouldn't "build" on it, with more foundation.
Invest in a good brush, that will give you more coverage, and then, if you want to "build" on it, use a bronzer, and contour your face. It would look way better than being completely caked.

I'm a NW 20 - 25 (the Mac girls always choose NW25 for me but I feel more comfortable in NW20.Guess I'm somewhere in between).
From the website it looks as if the colours are limited. Are they?

    You have
    N1 C1
    N2 C2
    N3 C3
    N4 C4
    N5 C5

I've got really weird colouring, in that i've got yellow undertones, and pink undertones, and so, am matched at both NC and NW.

I'm usually an NC 15 or NW 15 usually, and I use either C1 or N1 in face and body

I'd suggest maybe test N1 or N2 before you buy.

Mac Face and Body is not a Pro only product. It is part of their main permanent line! If it was Pro only, it would not be available in BT's

It is very natural looking and is amazing in flash photography but is definitely very different to Colorstay (which i would liken to Studio Fix Fluid)

I find that the Face and Body has good staying power too - a bit of powder in on my t-zone and it stays all day

I wouldn't recommend it for night time though- i always prefer a heavier coverage when going out. but it is fantastic for day time use.

It is also a huuuuuge bottle - 120 mls- which i think is 2-3 times the size of their normal foundation. but i have heard it goes off quite quickly (though i not sure how true this is) i think it is the type of foundation you buy and use religiously. it is not something you could buy and then go back to in 3-4 months as i have heard it separates in the bottle!

I love Face and Body! I wear N1. I only wear makup for going out and I hate feeling caked so it's great for me. Although othes have said it doesn't do full coverage, I find it covers my freckles and also a surgical scar I have.

My friend is a makeup artist and she uses it for photoshoots all the time and finds it great. She recommends pouring some into a 100ml bottle for current use and then putting the rest in the fridge to stop it separating.

She also gets it in a white colour from the Pro Store and then uses that to mix with the other shades to get it just right.

Just a quick question, as I was thinking of getting this myself. At the moment I use Revlon colourstay mainly because it doesn't rub off of your collar, but I'm finding it a bit drying. Does Mac have the same staying power, i.e it drys quickly and doesn't come off on clothes ?
