    Hi All
I have just moved to london and am looking for recommendation of gyms. I was in IP in glasnevin a few times ( but not full time) and would like something like that, im not a big fan of big commerical gyms. If anyone knows any info it would be appreciated!

What part of london are you living in?

Im living in Hampstead and working in Wembley so something on or near the Jubilee or Metropolitian lines would be great.

Fitness first is good and they have gyms all over London, you can get a certain package of membership where you could use a number of different gyms around London, could be good depending on where you're working.
You should check out their website.

When I lived in London I was a member of an Esporta gym and I liked it..

They had a computerized system, so beside each peice of equipment you put in your pin number and it told you what you did last time and monitored what you did this time, which was a good touch.

ts more of a "health club" [due to having a pool, sauna etc etc etc] than a shed with free weights, so it really depends on what your after..

I was a member here, it's not great to be honest, not if you're looking for somewhere like IP. It's really just another commercial gym. What about one of the crossfit boxes over there?

I go to crossfit london(http://crossfitlondonuk.com/) at bethnal green which is one stop from liverpool street on the central line.

I'd also recommend bethnal green weight lifting club http://bgwlc.blogspot.com/

When I was used to travel to london for work i found a few pay as you go gyms that were pretty good. it depends where you are in the city, there's a lot of fitness first gyms about which were awful, pretty much all treadmills no weights.
best trick was to use my brother's LA Fitness membership card from the Ranelagh gym and blag my way into the branch in Kensington. It was good, had a decent free weights section and an olympic platform, lot's of d-bags there both the trainers and gym goers but i went early in the morning and got everything i needed to get done.
