    Hi all

Im in Carlow town and have just seen what looked like a low flying(below clouds) plane. (small flashing red light) flying across the sky which had a very large ball of orange light emitting from 1 side of it.
It did not try land or anything but just kept its course and height. seems to be heading in a Dublin to Wexford direction.

2~3mins later another plane flew across at much faster than usual speeds heading in the same direction as the previous one but looked to be coming from the west i.e shannon maybe??

Any ideas on what I may have seen??

    Tom

    http://casper.frontier.nl/eidw/.

Go to that website and on the top right move the slider to the time you seen the planes. This should show the planes you seen.

I'm near Fermoy, Co. Cork and just after 11pm we heard a strange 'whoosh' noise while we were watching TV. It wasn't a plane or helicopter and sounded like it was something traveling fast in a North-East course... perhaps a meteor... pity it didn't land in my garden!

doesn't show all traffic, they need to be equipped with mode-s, ads-b or somesuch to broadcast their own info. you won't see aer arann for example.
