We're looking to stay in a baby-friendly hotel in the Meath/Cavan area with our newborn (6 weeks old) for our wedding anniversary. Any ideas for a nice place which would accomodate us to have dinner with a buggy or even baby monitor in the restaurant? Any tips would be appreciated! Farnham/Crover/Slieve Russell/Cavan Crystal? Any experiences? :)

Baby in room on its own and you in dining room  that's a no-no
The monitor probably wouldn't work anyway..

A six week old should be fine in any dining room, book a little earlier and at six weeks the baby will probably sleep anyway...

The crover house hotel is very reasonable midweek and very relaxing.

Hiya - I'd recommend the Park Hotel in Virginia - I've been there with 2 small children and the staff were lovely and the food really good. It's set in lots of woodland overlooking Lough Ramor and is really beautiful. Crover is a beautiful setting but a bigger more modern hotel - the Park has more character and more quaint. Part of Gulliver's Travels was written there.

The Farnham estate Radisson SAS just outside Cavan town and you'd be really really spoilt there and is beautiful - however I'd take the view over the lake over the view over the hills!

Any hotel should be able to organise a good baby sitter for you; why not enjoy your meal in peace?
