    Hi,

I need a GOOD plumber in ballyfermont, have some leaky pipes.

Also about two years ago some tool of a plumber replaced the mid size cylinder with a full size one (for soem reason its located ion th eattice), however the cold tank is now at the same height. and with a gravity fed system this means theres no hot water pressure at all.

as funds are tight i'd like to pressure fed the cylinder directly from the mains, this should avoid the costs of putting in a pump.

anybody know if this is possible, anybody able to do it.

the house is rented out, and the last tenants told us everthing was ok after the plumber left so i never inspectd his work. lesson learnt. they must have been faily dirty as the bath takes about an hour to fill and theres not much there for a shower.

    cheers guys.

What you propose is not permitted under current regs which are that the rising main is used to feed cold water in kitchen and as feed to cold water tank.

While GFMS may come to mind, in the event that something went wrong and the tenants got scalded or that the cylinder was not able to cope with the mains pressure and it burst, the legals would not be pretty and the house insurance might be be invalidated.

The slow flow is not because the hot tank is in the attic, you have some other issue.

It is a 2 storey house?

it is a two storey house. Do you reckon it's an air block or something ? The hot cylinder is the same level as the cold water tank. I've talked to a plumber who has more or less convinced me that i need a negative head two bar pump. Am i being had? If you want the job you can send me a pm with your initial thoughts and a price to sort out pending an inspection visit.
