    Howdy folks,

Have a 04 Audi A3 1.9tdi with 92k on the clock. Still drives perfectly, but every now and then its a struggle start her up...it never takes more than 2 goes, but more that the problem is that it turns over a couple times before it catches. Once it starts theres no problems, and sometimes it starts first turn over.

Any ideas what this may be? I want to have it remapped in the coming weeks, but would rather the engine was doing what it's supposed to be doing first.

A friend mentioned the possibility of a problem with the turbo?

    Any thoughts welcome!

    :)

There will be plenty of guessing on here and my guess is that your crankshaft sensor is on the way out.The only real way of knowing is to get it scanned.

is that problem comes only when the engine is warm???

I'd start with the simple stuff, like the battery. I can't see how a turbo problem would affect starting myself.

+1, or your starter is on the way out. nether are overly expensive. the guy doing the remapping should be able to tell ya and if he is doing work for ya already probably wont charge ya to have a quick look. like Anan said simple stuff
