Buzzing speaker. iPhone 4

I have my iPhone 4 from 3 for about a fortnight now, though I was on holidays for 10 days and the phone mostly lived in the safe in the apartment during that time. Now I'm home and using it more I've noticed an annoying buzz from the ear speaker (as opposed to the "loudspeaker" on the bottom of the phone) when I'm on a call. It's like a loose or damaged diaphragm in the speaker (though I'm sure they're not using diaphragms anymore).

I know it's a shocking reflection on 3's customer service that I'll come on here and ask advice from a load of randomers (no offence) before I waste 20 minutes of my life on the phone to an indian guy reading from a card, but what can/should I expect?

I'm sure it'll have to go back to 3 or Apple but that could leave me phoneless while they fix or replace it, as my microsim won't now fit into my old phone. I can't imagine I'd have much luck at a 3 store as it was bought over the phone as an upgrade.

    Any ideas or suggestions?

Pick one of these up to cover you in case you're left without a phone. Sounds like it will defo have to go back though or replaced.

Have the same problem with mine but it sounds like feedback noise while on a call not noticeable on 3g calls but on edge calls it gets louder as the signal fluctuates.

Called apple and they are replacing the phone again the replacement will be my fourth iPhone :(
