Quicker way of deleting text messages?

    I have thousands of txt messages on my phone from one person that i want rid of like nearly six thousand is there a quicker way then using handcent?

    Its taking me forever half time just crashs deletes nothing.

    Had the same issue. Just leave it running. Might take an hour and ask to force close. Just wait and let it run.

    I never deleted that amount but did you try the stock messaging app to delete them, would that do it any faster?

    Or else set the limit in message threads to 50 and see if that deletes them any quicker.

    Try this and when the force close screen comes up i press wait sometimes works sometimes crashs and no mesages get deleted :rolleyes:

    Seriously, leave it run. Had one thread with 8000 messages in it. I left it alive for 2 hours, because when I tried before it would freeze or not delete anything. It's a pain, but patience is the only removal method here!

    Did u use handcent or another message app? And did u click anything when it tried to force close?

    lol i went to delete a full thread of 5557 messages this morning at bout 4 or so its still on it dunno weather any of them have even been deleted ffs

    There has to be an easyer way of doing this considering you can wipe the phone itself in matter of seconds.
