    I'm down to my last 5. :(

Best bet might be Kapp & Peterson at the bottom of Grafton street opposite Trinity.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 977 ✭✭✭Abrasax

Thanks, but I tried there to no avail.
For those not in the know American Spirit is an organic tobacco, with no added chemicals, and having only recently rediscovered the joys of nicotine addiction after being off them for nine years, I found them quite easy on the lungs and I could smoke them without them affecting my athletic prowess. The chemically laden fare on offer here tends to make me nauseous and I can feel the difference in my chest straight away.
I even tried Dunhill Reds which are supposed to have no additives, according to the box, but with the same toxic results.
I'll be back on the continent after the weekend where they can be found in most countries.

can't help you with where to get them i'm afraid, but my uncles girlfriend from the states brings some over with her whenever they come to visit. She gave me two packets last time she was down, by god I made them last and they were fantastic.

    good luck in your search

    hey

i recently heard about a brand name called american spirit cigarettes
Their products are marketed as being "100% additive Free tobacco "
made of organic and natural tobacco and do not contain many of the harmful chemicals of other brands
i know this doesnt mean ''safer smoking'

but it is worth a try

so my question is is there any where in or around cork
    that stocks these cigarettes ???

    Cheers dave

I had a few of these over in Florida last April. They are just lovely, none of that chemically taste, plus one lasts for ever, seriously, at least 2 times as long a marlboro light.

not to the best of my knowledge, they were even rare enough to come by over there, i got a few from an american who knew the score. they even seemed to be quite "indie", if that makes sense.

According to wiki you can get them in the UK: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natural_American_Spirit so maybe ask someone heading over there if you know any. They were delish I must say

Also widely available in Berlin and Amsterdam. Yellows and Reds are a fave

Sounds almost like a rollie... :D

I've smoked them in France, initially I thought they were not bad but a little lacking in flavour for me - I normally smoke Marlboro Gold - I had to go to the stronger pack to feel a 'pull' of them and my lungs were aching the next day. All the same by the end of the second pack I was quite enjoying them, I'd buy them if they were sold here.

Yeah i'm on the look out for these or any other brand that's organically grown, any where in Ireland where you could source organic tobacco or ciggs?

    Excellent!

Let us know, I assume as they are in the EU that there shouldn't be any issues re: customs?

They're €3.70 a pack in Spain and readily available in the official tobacco shops. So, if you know people heading there you could give them money for a carton or two.

I smoke them and they're far easier on the lungs than regular smokes.

What are peoples experiences getting friends to post over packs from within the e.u?

but that works out at €4 a pack it's only 30 cent extra and you're
    (practically) guaranteed to recieve them

for a 35 gram pouch i get about 100 cigarettes and they will (when i get the cash) work out at €7 per pouch

    OOPS HA

    me fail math

    that's €8 a pack

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 805 ✭✭✭reverenddave

    right

finally today i ordered my American spirit tobacco 10 x 35g pouches
    for €51 plus shipping €18.99 total €70

it said 2-3 days delivery so hopefully monday or tuesday i'll keep y'all updated

the shipping is a bit steep but fúck it
    it's worth it
for the same price in irish shops that's less then 4 pouches

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 805 ✭✭✭reverenddave

got my american spirit tobacco it arrived wednesday in really quick time
total cost for 10 pouches €69.99

€7 per pouch is pretty good i just need to restock up on filters and skins :D
    so thats 130 cigarettes x 10 pouches
13 boxes of filters and 26 packets of blue rizla :)
that'll definately last me till next year
i'm sittin in the porch with a HUGE cuppa tea smoking my brains out :D

    Hi guys,

I just bought the yellow packets from E-Tobacco. Great stuff! But I had the red/maroon coloured pack before and it was mind-blowing. How come I can find the red/maroon organic blend?

only some varieties are available in some countries

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natural_American_Spirit#Varieties

i must have a look for an online american based supplier
for some of the other types of tobaccos

Smoked a few cartons of them. Got them off a friend whose parents insist on bringing them to him from the duty free. Very bland imo. Ended up mixing them with the Marlboro Gold because they just weren't satisfying to me. Like the idea of organic and all, but I think the established brands have survived so long because they blended a better smoke.
American Spirits also take almost twice as long to smoke as mentioned above. Not sure if it's the lack of chemicals or a denser filter. Dense filter would explain some of my "issues" with them. They're not awful or anything, just couldn't switch to them full time.

Anyone know which variety is the strongest rolling tobacco?
    Type Package Color
    Original Blend Cyan
    U.S. Grown Blend Royal Blue
    Organic Blend Maroon
    Perique Blend Black
    Menthol Green
I tried it previously and liked it. Only problem is it smells pretty unusual and the people around me always gave me dubious stares. Wouldn't be so bad if they weren't rollies, I suppose.

What did you think of the american spirit tobacco????
I was thinking of getting it from the same site. Then I noticed they sell Pall Mall rolling tobacco. I normally smoke Pall Mall red so I was thinking of going for the rolled version of the same smoke!!!

I was thinking about quitting, or at least cutting down. So I've decided if I am gonna smoke ever again, I want it to be completely natural! So I was wondering, would any of you know where you could get a few packs of American Spirit? I don't wanna buy 100€ worth, any suggestions? Or failing that, is there any other 100% organic tobaccos available here?

    Many thanks :)

    sorry i missed your reply

    i LOVE american spirit
and the fact that its additive free makes it even better
b&h or samsom was my cigarette brand but i just cant smoke them anymore, i tend to feel a bit sick after a packet
and when i do run out of american spirit i just get a mix of amber leaf or golden virginia

Hey , I haven't been able to find American spirit tobacco anywhere in the ROI. I know that it's sold in Asda in Enniskillen because I've bought it there before. I couldn't find it in Newry when I was last there. I'm thinking about trekking up to Enniskillen from Dublin tomorrow but it's a bit of a trek for tobacco. I only smoke once in a while and I like to smoke this stuff because it doesn't sicken me like regular tobacco does. Does anybody here know if it can be bought somewhere in Dublin or even Drogheda?. I know from talking to people and seeing people rolling with it after bringing it back from abroad that there would be enough of a demand for it for the shops to stock it.

There have been a number of threads here about this already.

A forum search of 'american spirit' gives you these results.

Anyone know where to buy pouches of American Spirit rolling tobacco in Dublin? I saw it in Tesco years ago but nowhere else. Lately I've seen a few people out rolling with it.

Lucky Strike tobacco either, but I'd say I could only get that abroad :(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 330 ✭✭mongdesade

Not available in the 26 counties AFAIK, I usually head across to Newry when my Lanzarote stash runs out :D

As this is a recurring topic (& people aren't using the search function :() I've merged any American Spirit threads that I could find into this one.

Not in the Republic I'm afraid, I've looked all over Cork, Dublin, Waterford, smaller towns. Don't know why the newsagents or tobacconists don't stock it, it's common enough on the continent.
