I've recently been told that I'd be a very good candidate for monovision after the initial consultation, I'm a little wary about it as I golf and lots of sites don't believe its ideal for some sports especially golf as you won't have 100% sight. I did mention that at the time to the consultant but he said it wouldn't matter. Anyone got any experience of monovision. Im 45 prescription is -5 and -7 with fairly high astigmatism. Also what is the "pre op" is that the initial consultation or do I have to go to the clinic a few days prior to the surgury.

I would try monovision in contact lenses before going through with the laser procedure (clinics usually offer the option) and at least then you can judge what your vision will be like after the laser.
